Over the past few years OJSC "AK "Transneft" captures the increase in sour crude oil in the main oil pipelines. In 2009 the reception of sour crude oil amounted to 64 million tons, and in 2014 - already to 81 million tons. Based on the data provided by the oil companies, it is projected that this steady trend will continue in the future.
A direct consequence of increasing the percentage of sulfur in the oil is a reduction of repair service interval at the refineries, as well as the life of the equipment due to the corrosive effects of sulfur.
