Oil flow starts at the 1st section of ESPO pipeline

The first section of the Eastern Siberia-Pacific Ocean pipeline was connected to the operating piping system of “Transneft” on April 2, 2015, 12.15 p.m. Moscow Time near the city of Taishet (Irkutsk region). Kilometer point is km0- km238.

After the filling of the document of the working commission and the receipt of necessary permits, oil injection started, the press-service of “Transneft” reports.

The oil went to the operating main oil pipelines “Omsk-Irkutsk” and “Krasnoyarsk-Irkutsk” at the tie-in point. The end point of filling is cleaning and diagnostic launcher and receiver units, located near the settlement Vikhorevka (Bratsk district).

The construction of facilities of the pipeline  of the first stage of ESPO started on April 28, 2006. The length of the route from Taishet to Skovorodino (Amur region) makes up 2694 km.
