Transneft announced an environmental incident at “Kuibyshev-Lisichansk” oil pipeline

“Transneft” addressed the Prime Minister D.Medvedev with a request for  assistance in the prevention of environmental disaster because of eventual oil leak from from main oil pipeline “Kuibyshev-Lisichansk in Saratov region. It is said in the letter of Transneft’s president N.Tokarev to the Prime Minister of Russia, dated October 23rd, 2013.

As it is said in the statement, a subsidiary “Privolzhsknefteprovod” held a number of activities to prevent any disasters at the main oil pipelines. One of the measures is the reconstruction of the linear part of the pipeline for a distance of about 331-367 km.

The repair operations had been planned for June. But the route goes via the Engelsk district and the territory of an individual entrepreneur N.A.Eliseeva. She prevents the reconstruction operation with an aim to “get unfounded enrichment”.
