Transneft wants compensation for oil spills

Transneft has asked compensation for works, which are connected with soil disturbance, from the Russian Government.
The request was sent in the letter to the representative of the Russian President in the Volga Federal District M.Babich.
Transneft explains this step with great quantity of illegal tappings: Transneft has to eliminate them and repair pipelines and subsoil at its own expense.
According to Transneft, in 2003-2012 4779 illegal tappings of main oil pipelines were revealed in Russia. Over the past 10 years, the majority of them took place in the Samara and Irkutsk regions, as well as in Dagestan.
