Export of oil via southern branch of Druzhba grows

Recently, the export of Russian oil via the southern branch of the Druzhba oil pipeline increased dramatically, a source in the Ministry of Energy reported. At the same time, oil, which is supplied via this branch and provides for transit through the Ukraine, became more expensive than other Urals oil by 200 rubles per ton.

  • Indeed, pumping via the Druzhba’s southern branch, through which oil is delivered to Slovakia, Hungary, the Czech republic and Croatia, increased, - the official representative of Transneft Igor Demin confirmed. – The two-month supplies correspond to level of 17 million tons per year. While the planned volume of the transit through the Ukraine is 15 million tons. This excess isn’t very good, because the branch works at the top end of its capacity.

According to participants of the market, the supplies are increasing because of complicated political situation in the Ukraine, because companies try to take their whole volume for this year as soon, as possible. The process started to gain momentum after statement of leader of the Right Sector Dmitry Yarosh on the necessity to blow up Ukrainian pipelines.
