The Russian Government knew nothing about the purchase of 10% in the Novorossiysk sea trade port (NTMP) by Transneft, the First Vice Premier, I. Shuvalov said. On Thursday, Transneft officially confirmed that it purchased at free market 10% in the Novorossiysk sea trade port. A source close to the situation, claimed to the Prime Agency that the shareholding could cost approximately $300 million. He claims that a Uralsib structure formally bought out from the market the stocks of NTMP not for Transneft but in favor of a private client.
