Transneft asks to transfer to it the state's 20% in the Novorossiysk sea port

The largest world operator of oil pipelines, Transneft appealed to the Russian President, Vladimir Putin to transfer the company the 20% state package of Novorossiysk Commercial Sea Port (NMTP). In the case of responding to the request, Transneft will receive the actual control of the port.

According to sources of the Vedomosti, the Transneft’s request will be considered by the Russian Prime Minister, Dmitry Medvedev. The Head of Transneft, Nikolay Tokarev explained the desire to increase the stake in NMTP with desire to increase the capitalization of the port (over the past seven years, it fell from $4.9 billion to $808 million).
