The oil from Kashagan may go via the oil pipeline “Atyrau-Samara”

Kazakhstan has applied to “Transneft” with a request to transport oil from the largest Kazakh deposit of Kashagan via the oil pipeline “Atyrau-Samara”. The oil is suggested to be mixed with the light Siberian oil in Samara with further pumping via Novorossiysk for export.

The operator of the project Kashagan North Caspian Operating Company, according to ITAR-TASS, is about to deliver oil for export through a number of routes. They are Caspian pipeline consortium, oil pipeline Atyrau-Samara-Novorossiysk and rail road to the ports Taman and Baku.
