The new Siberian oil fields are not enough to fill the prospective expanded ESPO.
The new oil resources in the region of the ESPO pipeline are not enough to ensure the pipeline capacity of 80 million tons per year will be reached, Igor Katsal, the Deputy Vice President of OJSC "AK "Transneft", stated in an interview with Business FM.
The volume of oil, pumped through the ESPO in an amount of 80 million tons, - is the volume, "that we are seeing in the very distant future, and maybe we not to dispence with the resources of only the new fields", - Katsal stated. These are Kuyumbinsk and Yurubcheno-Tokhomsk fields in the north of the Krasnoyarsk Region, whose oil would come to Tayshet - the starting point of the ESPO. These are also the new fields in Western Siberia, which will become a resource for the oil pipeline Arctic - Purpe. "Even all these declared new fields still give us this volume at a stretch", - the representative of "Transneft" stated.
