Severstal starts to supply South Stream with pipes at the end of April.

At the end of April 2014 the enterprises of the "Severstal Russian Steel" division will supply pipes with a diameter of 813 mm for the construction of the offshore section of the "South Stream" pipeline. On Wednesday the CEO, Sergey Toropov stated in an interview with Itar-Tass that "Severstal" will deliver about 100 thousand tons of pipes just following the tender.

"The project is difficult because it is a new type of product for us, - Toropov stated. - Now we focus on the work to prepare for the mass production. There is an action plan that seeks to prevent the terms from derailing and to ensure the required quality".
