In 2014,a further increase of of sour crude oil by 2.5-3 million tons is predicted, the deputy vice president of Transneft, Igor Katsal stated at the forum Petcoke -2014. In 2013, growth of sour crude oil in the pipeline system was 4.9 million tons. Over past 10 years (since 2003), the acceptance of sour oil increased by 28.2 million tons and reached 77.5 million tons. The acceptance of oil with complicated rheological characteristics and abnormal quality parameters, with a high content of resins and asphaltenes and decreased content of naphthenic hydrocarbons also increased. Simultaneously, factor of "aging", depletion of deposits progresses.

The qualitative composition of the oil has deteriorated - particularly sharply in recent years. Forecasts, presented by oil companies, show that such dynamics on deterioration will be stable. The company believes that the technological reconstruction and modernization of petrochemical enterprises, providing a phased transfer of oil refineries to the increase of the volume of sour crude oil processing and processing of crude oil with high density values (sulfur content) are necessary to solve the problem and to create stable operating conditions for the oil industry.
