New sanctions of the EU to have a bad impact on Rosneft, Gazpromneft and Transneft

The EU is preparing new sanctions against Russia, which will concern state-controlled oil companies.

Russian oil companies won’t have access to the European capital markets - previously the same measure was applied against the Russian state-owned banks.

On July 30th, 2014, the USA imposed sanctions against the United Shipbuilding Corporation, Russian Agricultural Bank, VTB and Bank of Moscow.

On July 17th, 2014, the USA also imposed additional sanctions against Russia in connection with the situation around the Ukraine. In particular, Rosneft, Novatek and Vnesheconombank were included in the sanctions list.
