In January – May, SOCAR declined oil exports by Baku-Novorossiysk by 20% to 655,880 tons.
The Premier of Russia D. Medvedev signed the order about termination of the agreement between Russia and Azerbaijan about oil transit via Baku-Novorossiysk pipeline on May 5. The agreement was closed in 1996. The Minister of External Affairs S. Lavrov announced on May 21 that Russia and Azerbaijan elaborate a new agreement about oil transit via Baku-Novorossiysk pipeline , concerning the new realities.
