Kazakhmys plans to produce 285-295 thousand tons of copper.
In the first nine months the Kazakhmys Group produced 213.1 thousand tonnes of copper in cathode equivalent. By the end of the year the volume of production is expected in the planned range of 285-295 thousand tons. Ore production in the reporting period amounted to 27.7 million tons.
In the near future the reorganization of the Kazakhmys Group, which resulted in mature assets of the Karaganda, Balkhash and Zhezkazgan production sites being transferred to Cuprum Netherlands Holding company and continue to work as part of Kazakhmys Corporation. The enterprises of the East region, Boschekul, Aktogai and Koksai growth projects, and the Bozymchak mine will remain within a public company, which would change its name to KAZ Minerals.
