Norilsk Nickel has extended Octyabrsky and Talnakh licenses

​The administration of the Taymyr (Dolgano-Nenets) Autonomous Area has extended the licenses for copper-nickel ore extraction at the Octyabrsky and Talnakh deposits to Norilsk Nickel.

The validity of both licenses has been extended from the beginning of 2016 until the end of 2033.

Norilsk Nickel was issued the licenses for the Octyabrsky and Talnakh deposits in the Krasnoyarsk region in 2001. Both deposits are in the structure of the Talnakh ore hub the reserves of which are developed b the Trans-Polar branch of MMK.

The proven reserves of the hub make up: 346.867 mln tons of ore with the content of: 2.614 mln tons of nickel; 5.605 mln tons of copper 43.822 mln ounces of palladium; 11.824 mln ounces of platinum; 2.462 mln ounces of gold and 57.948 mln ounces of platinoids. Probable reserves make up 319.518 mln tons of ore with the content of: 3.8 mln tons of nickel; 6.408 mln tons of copper; 46.49 mln ounces of palladium; 11.384 mln ounces of platinum; 2.782 mln ounces of gold and 60.743 mln ounces of platinoids.
