2 million tons of non-ferrous metal produced at MMK

The next milestone on output of metal products with polymer coating was passed in the coating shop of MMK. Two color coating lines (APP) produced 2 million tons of metal products since their launch.

As the MMK’s press centre reported to correspondent of the Novy Region, the launch of APP №1 took place on July 16 of 2004 and was timed to the Day of metallurgist and the 75th anniversary of Magnitogorsk. The facility, made by VOEST-ALPINE (Austria) with capacity of 200 thousand tons became the next element of the processing chain of earlier implemented investment projects: a continuous-casting machine in oxygen-converter plant, a reversing mill in rolling mill and continuous galvanizing unit in coating shop. The first 100 thousandth ton of products was made at the facility in August of 2005.
