In 2013, Kazakhmys increased copper concentrate production by 3.3% to 316,200 tons, and cathode copper production by 0.6% to 294,000 tons. The enterprise made 107,500 ounce of gold (-16.7%), 14.348 million ounce of silver (+13.5% at the expense of enlargement in the coefficient of extraction and processing of raw materials in excess to industry norms), and 134,100 tons of zinc concentrate (-11.5%). Ore extraction increased by 4.5% to 39.191 million tons. The index increased at the expense of enlargement in production at the mines of Konyrat and Nurkuzgan. Average copper content in ore was 0.99% compared to 0.95% in 2012. Last year they began pre-industrial ore extraction at the Bozymchak deposit. They started precommissioning at the ore-dressing combine that will continue within the whole Q1 2014. The group is going to publish the financial results on February 27 2014.
