In January-March, Russia increased gold production by 2%

In the first quarter of 2015, Russian companies produced 46.418 tons of gold, mined and produced as a result of byproducts, including processing of scrap and waste – this is by approximately 2.06% more than in the previous year, chairman of the Russian Union of Gold Producers Sergei Kaszuba reported to journalists.

Also, in the first quarter of 2015, the total silver production in Russia decreased by 4% as compared with the same period in the previous year to 392.15 tons. Including the production of silver bullion from the mined raw materials increased by 10% to 113.48 tons; byproducts were reduced by 10% to 66.27 tons; and the scrap production increased by 2% to 45.43 tons. The mining of ore and production of concentrates, included in the total silver production, decreased by 12% to 166.97 tons.
