Evraz plans to purchase “Sibuglemet”

“Sibuglemet”, one of the largest coking coal producers in Russia, might be controlled by Evraz group. The negotiations upon the transfer of control are being held.
To purchase the company, Evraz will have to preliminarily agree with VTB which is considered the main creditor of “Sibuglemet”. Moreover, if the deal is signed, the total stake of 2 companies in the thermal coal market of Russia will exceed 35%. It might cause questions of FAS, specialists think.
