Severstal can postpone the launch of Balakovo plant to 2014

Severstal can postpone the hot launch of the sort rolling mill in Balakovo from the end of 2013 to 2014 but the first steel bar will be made before the end of 2013, as it was planned before. However the launch of the electric steel smelting furnace will be executed in H1 2014 only due to some delays of the contractors. Annual capacity of the plant is 1 million tons of rolled steel, and the investment to the project is $700 million.
