Raspadskaya reduced coal mining by 20% in Q1 2016

​In Q1 2016 Raspadskaya reduced coal mining to 2.256 mln tons.

Compared with Q1 2015 coal mining fell by 19.5%, by 12% against Q4 2015.

The negative dynamics is explained by the putting out of operation of a part of production capacities.

The section 5a-7-28bis at the Raspadskaya mine was put out of operation as a result of the planned remounting in Q1 2016, the cost demanding MUK-96 mine in Q2 2015 and the field of the mine #1 Raspadskaya-Koksovaya as a result of the necessary shutdown at the discovery of carbon oxide in Q3 2015.

The sale volume of coal concentrate in annual terms fell by 13.8% to 1.486 mln tons. The export fell by 6% to 925 thousand tons, sales in Russia reduced by 25% to 561 thousand tons. In the total volume of export 83% of supplies was held to the APR, 17% to Europe. The average weighted price of concentrate fell by 1% to 3,182 roubles/ton.

In 2010 one of the largest accidents in the coal sector of Russia took place at Raspadskaya.

In 2014 Raspadskaya increased coal mining by 31% against 2013 to 10.2 mln tons.
