Evraz NTMK has completed the first stage of construction of a ball rolling mill

​The new mill will allow Evraz NTMK to expand the assortment of products and start the production of balls of the 5th group of hardness.

Evraz NTMK has completed the first stage of the project of construction of a ball rolling mill. In the framework of the basic engineering preliminary projects and general plan have been worked out, the production of all necessary units has started.

The new ball rolling mill will be located at the rails and bail shop. By today the old equipment has been fully dismantled there, lighting has been partially replaced and repair has been held. The heating furnace, rolling mill, the unit of ball thermal treatment, automated system of control and auxiliary equipment will be installed at the ball rolling mill.

The new mill will allow Evraz NTMK to expand the assortment of products and start the production of balls of the 5th group of firmness which are now produced overseas. The unique technology of thermal treatment with the application of 2-stage regulated hardening which will allow to increase the characteristics of firmness has been already worked out.

The stage of projection works has been started by today. They will end in 2016. It is planned to launch it in 2017.

The company’s investment into the project will make up about 1 bln roubles.
