Bulgaria and Greece are ready to sign the investment agreement on the construction of the gas pipeline in June

Bulgaria and Greece are ready to sign the investment decision on the construction of the cross-system gas pipeline in June, the Minister of Energy of Bulgaria, T. Petkova, said.

“On June 12th Bulgaria and Greece are to sign the final investment agreement which will give the official start of the project of the cross-system gas pipeline between the 2 countries”, T. Petkova said.

She said that the construction of the gas pipeline is to start in March 2016, in 2018 it should be put into operation.

With the completion of construction of this interconnector we will have an opportunity to diversify the route and the source of gas supply and will gain an opportunity to receive gas from the Caspian region, she said.

The length of the gas pipeline will be 182 km, 150 km – on the territory of Bulgaria.
