Boguchansk aluminium plant to produce 150 thousand tons of aluminium in 2016

​The Boguchansk aluminium plant (Krasnoyarsk region) will produce 150 thousand tons of aluminium in 2016, the Governor V. Tolokonsky said.

We are negotiating with the company on the launch of the second quarter of capacities so as the plant could produce 300 thousand tons. I think the market environment will be respective, he said.

He ordered the Government of the region along with the company to work out all necessary documents for the official launch of the plant.

In February the CEO of Rusal, V. Soloviev, said that the plant hopes to officially put the Boguchansk aluminium plant into operation in 2016.

The Boguchansk aluminium plant is located in the Boguchansk district of the Krasnoyarsk region. Its construction is held in the framework of the Boguchansk metallurgical union, a joint project of Rusal and RusHydro. The production volume will make up 588 thousand tons of aluminium a year. The investment volume into the plant’s construction exceeded $2.6 bln.
