Magnitogorsk metallurgical plant continues large-scale reconstruction of blast furnace №8

Technical re-equipment of the blast furnace №8 in the blast furnace shop of the Magnitogorsk metallurgical plant (MMK), started in December last year, continues, MMK reports.

The blast furnace will be fully upgraded by March 15 and will allow MMK to prepare for the traditionally high spring season. Bulk of the work will concern the furnace itself, all of whose elements - refrigerators, casing, lining, pipe cooling hearth, etc, - will be replaced. It is expected that in early February heaters of the furnace will be put on warming - the first phase of the preparation of blast furnace to start.
