The steel wire shop of MMK-Metiz has made 10 million tons of wire. On August 18th 2013, the shop celebrated its 50th anniversary. It was launched in 1963 and was the leader of those days by staff number (789 workers) and projected capacity (297,000 tons). The produced assortment was large as well: welding coppered wire, periodic profile wire, galvanized wire, telegraph wire, armored cable wire, barbed wire. The commodities were supplied to the consumers throughout the country and abroad to Cuba, Yugoslavia, Germany and Israel.
