Mechel increased the loading of ChMK

On the results of Q1 2016 Mechel produced 1.041 mln tons of steel, by 6% less than in Q1 2015, is said in Q1 report.

Cast iron making in Q1 fell by 4% to 1.005 mln tons, coal mining – rose by 3% to 5.663 mln tons. Compared with Q4 2015 cast iron production stayed at the previous level, steel – fell by 4%, coal –fell by 2%.

Production volumes of cast iron in Q1 2016 stayed at the level of Q4 2015, steel output slightly decreased due to the planned repair of one of the converters at the Chelyabinsk metallurgical plant. In Q1 2016 we reached a  50% loading o the universal rails and bail mill at  ChMK and reached maximum results from the beginning o its operation.

The output of rolled products at the universal rails and bail mill in Q1 2016 rose by 74% against Q4 2015, the CEO of Mechel, O. Korzhov, said.
