In the first six months of 2013, the net loss of Raspadskaya (82% belongs to Evraz) – the largest coke coal producer in Russia – under IAS increased 3.6 times as compared with the same period of 2012 to $68 million, the company reports.
The increase of the Raspadskaya’s loss was caused by the decrease of the demand for coal products on the domestic market and the redistribution of sales to markets with a decreasing price trend in the first six months of 2013, as well as the temporary suspension of works at the Raspadskaya mine in May of 2013, the report says.
