Entry to the USA is closing for Russian steel

The United States Department of Commerce will terminate an agreement, concluded with Russia 15 years ago, under which hot-rolled sheet from the Russian Federation is not a subject to anti-dumping duties. If they are not revised, they will make up over 184% for the majority of Russian metallurgical companies. But not more than 4% of the Russian export of rolled steel was exported to the United States market in recent years.

The United States Department of Commerce has notified the Russian Ministry of the Economy that it is going to unilaterally terminate the agreement on non-use of anti-dumping duties on the export of Russian hot-rolled sheet, the agency MetalBulletin reported yesterday, referred to a letter of the U.S. Department of Commerce. Information was confirmed by the Kommersant’s source among the Russian metallurgical companies.
