In Q1 2016 coal extraction in Komi made up 3.456 mln tons, by 17.3% less than in Q1 2015 and by 18% less than was planned.
The reduction of extraction fall was the consequence of the accidents at the mines in February-March 2016.
Due to the accident at the Severnaya mine in Vorkuta on February 25th 2016 the subdivision of Vorkutaugol was shut down and now the mine is being flooded.
Due to the accident on March 18th 2016 the Intaugol mine was shut down, the extraction renewed only in early April 2016.
As a result in Q1 2016 Vorkutaugol reduced the extraction by 13% against Q1 2015, Intaugol – by 55.4%.
