NLMK to launch another coal injection unit

NLMK Group, the largest Russian producer of steel and high value-added steel products . has started hot tests of the second coal injection unit at its main industrial site in Lipetsk.
The company started to introduce an advanced resource-saving technology at blast furnace №4 with capacity of approximately 2.1 million tons of cast iron per year. In 2013, a similar unit was successfully launched at blast furnace №5 with capacity of 3 million tons of cast iron per year.
Thus, more than a third of blast capacities of the NLMK’s Lipetsk production site starts using the resource-saving technology of coal injection.
