‘A man from the Urals’ has become the chief of Alrosa

His candidature has been approved, the chief of Alrosa’s subsidiary Almazy Anabara JSC M. Yevseyev says. Mr. Yevseyev does not name the person, and adds that he is a compromise between Moscow and Yakutia, calling him ‘A man from the Urals’.

The supervisory council for admission of the new president of Alrosa will be held on October 23rd.

The ex-president F. Andreyev left his post on September 22. He has been the chief of Alrosa since July 2009. The acting chief of the enterprise was, I. Ryatschin.

Alrosa is engaged with diamonds exploration, extraction, production and sales. It operates in Yakutia and the Arkhangelsk region. In 2013, Alrosa extracted 36.9 million carats of diamonds, and awaits 36 million carats in 2014.
