UC Rusal won its case against Guinea Government in Paris
UC Rusal won its case aagainst the bauxite-clay enterprise Friguia at the International Arbitration Court in Paris.
One of the largest aluminium producers in the world – UC Rusal – announced that the International Arbitration Court at the International Trade Chamber (Paris) made a decision on the claim of UC Rusal against the Republic of Guinea in favour of the company concerning the bauxite-clay enterprise Friguia.
The Court proved the validity of the purchase-and-sale agreement as of April 14th 2006 between UC Rusal and the Republic of Guinea according to which Rusal purchased the shares of Friguia plant.
The International Court didn’t accept the position of the Republic of Guinea that the company’s activity didn’t meet the norms. The Court also ordered the Republic of Guinea to pay k to UC Rusal the legal costs of €250 thousand.
