Severstal prolongs contract with HYUNDAI-KIA
Severstal has prolonged the long-term contract with HYUNDAI-KIA. The new contract for rolled steel supplies made by Cherepovets metal works, a subsidiary of Severstal Russian Steel to Hyundai, assembling cars at the plant Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Rus Ltd in St. Petersburg, is active till the end of 2012. In 2012, Cherepovets metal works is going to supply 15,000 tons of car steel plates for HYUNDAI-KIA, by 2 times more than in 2011. Cherepovets steel is used for production of outer and inner components of car bodies for all models made by HYUNDAI-KIA in Russia: the Solaris Sedan, Solaris HB, Kia Rio Sedan and Kia Rio HB, the director for marketing and sales of Severstal Russian Steel, D. Goroshkov says. Now Severstal supplies cold rolled steel for production of outer components for Hyundai Solaris. In July and August they are going to supply trial car plates batches for production of outer part of Kia Rio. Cherepovets steel is also used for the production of Volkswagen and Renault cars that localized their enterprises in Russia.
