Chinese companies may take part in the project on the development of the Udokansky copper deposit - the largest deposit in Russia and the third large deposit in the world in terms of ore reserves, the Bloomberg reports, referring to its sources.

The negotiations on the sale of its stake in the project are held by Metalloinvest of Alisher Usmanov. The buyer could be the Chinese investment company Hopu Investment Management, which, in turn, can attract some of Chinese mining companies as a partner.

It is also reported that Metalloinvest’s general director, Andrew Varichev participates in the visit of President Vladimir Putin to China. The talks over the sale of the stake in the deposit can take place in Shanghai.
