TMK may become new supplier of pipes for the Sakhalin-2 project

Sakhalin Energy and the Pipe Metallurgical Vompany (TMK) hav signed a memorandum on cooperation.

The memorandum provides for the development of efficient cooperation within project on the expertise and certification of TMK’s pipe products with a view to determine possibilities of their use by Sakhalin Energy.

Under the signed memorandum, Sakhalin Energy plans to conduct an audit and technical expertise at TMK’s Volga pipe plant and Taganrog metallurgical plant, as well as to take part in product testing with with the participation of the technical experts of the third parties, including representatives of Shell, which will be conducted in TMK’s research center, located in Houston. In the case of successful completion of these steps, it’s planned to develop a road map, whsoeh implementation will allow Sakhalin Energy to consider TMK as a potential supplier of tubular products for the company.
