Prospected copper reserves are 100 million tons in Kazakhstan, the Chairman of the Geology and Subsoil Use Committee B. Nurabayev says. They are mostly concentrated in Central, Eastern and Western Kazakhstan. In 2003-2012, they were developed 25-53 copper deposit, and copper extraction was 5.2 million tons at them. Annual copper extraction was 472,000 tons – 567,000 tons. Geological exploration executed in 2003-2012 resulted in enlargement of copper reserves to 3.9 million tons that compensated 76% of extracted reserves. In 2012, growth in copper reserves was 348,000 tons.
