Indonesia does not lift the ban on nickel ore exports

The newly appointed government of Indonesia is not about to lift a ban on nickel ore exports, imposed in early 2014. The global nickel market incurs a deficit for the first time since 2010, Bloomberg writes.

The ban on nickel ore export stimulates the investment processes in Indonesia. In 2017, they are about to build 64 enterprises on nickel, bauxite and other metals processing valued at $18 billion. The key investors are from China, the agency states citing an announcement of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources.
