NLMK increases steel production by 2.5% to 3.785 million tons

In the second quarter of 2013, the steel production of the NLMK Group grew by 2.5% to 3.785 million tons. The sales of metal products made up 3.771 million tons (0.2% q/q). Against the background of the seasonal growth in demand from the final consumers, the sales of finished rolled metal increased by 6% to 2.744 million tons and their share in the total volume of sales exceeded 73%. The sales of high-value-added products grew by 3.7% to 1.380 million tons that is about 560% of the sales of finished rolled metal. The sales at the Russian market reached their record: in the second quarter, 1.427 million tons (+7% q/q) were sold – this is 38% of the total volume of sales. The international deliveries were carried out to the company’s traditional markets of Europe, the USA, South-Eastern Asia and Middle East.
