Evraz extends portfolio of railway goods for European markets

European certification authority in the field of railway transport VUZ (the Czech Republic) has issued a certificate of compliance (TSI) to EVRAZ NTMK for the solid-rolled railway wheels with the diameter of 920 mm of the BA 319 design, which are used for freight wagons, the company reports. The certification of a new kind of railway products will allow the company to consolidate its market positions on the European market, including the German market.

EVRAZ NTMK passed two inspection audits to obtain the certificate: technical and quality management systems audits. The technical one included a review of all the stages of the railway wheels production from the steel production process. EVRAZ NTMK makes a ​​special steel grade ER7 with high quality characteristics in its converter shop for this kind of railway wheels.The railway wheels also passed thermomechanical tests in an accredited Czech laboratory.
