Mayor lays charges against Norilsk Nickel on pollution-crime

Russia’s metal giant Norilsk Nickel is violating the pollution standard on the Norwegian side of the border. The Mayor of Sør-Varanger Cecilie Hansen says enough and issues legal proceedings against Norilsk Nickel.

The company totally ignores that fact that the emissions destroy the nature on our side of the border too,” Mayor of Sør-Varanger, Norway’s only municipality with a direct border to Russia.
