Mechel has appealed the collection of 50.2 bln roubles in favor of VTB

The Arbitration Court of Moscow has registered an appeal of Mechel against the decision of collection of about 50.2 bln roubles from it by the loan as of December 27th 2010.

The appeal was filed to the Court of first instance on May 13th. It will be transferred to the 9th Arbitration Court of Appeal that will appoint the date of its consideration.

The Arbitration Court of Moscow on April 9th fully satisfied the claim of VTB that demanded to preliminarily settle the loan when Mechel stopped to maintain it in March 2014. Meanwhile the Court dismissed a counter-claim of Mechel in which it asked to prove invalid the norms of the agreement setting the conditions of preliminary loan enforcement.

The Court collected 44.5 bln roubles of the main debt from Mechel, 3.2 bln roubles of interest, 1.9 bln roubles of penalty by the main debt and 557 mln roubles of penalty for interest payment overdue.
