Jebariki-Haya mine in Yakutia turns to open-pit mining

Yakutugol, Mechel’s affiliate, has started to supply the mining equipment to turn the Jebariki-Haya mine to the open-pit method of coal extraction.

Yakutugol made this decision so as to increase the safety and profitability of extraction at the Jebariki-Haya deposit that provide 16 districts of Yakutia with thermal coal.

In 2016 Yakutugol started stripping works at the site of open-pit works near the existing mine.

Its project capacity will make up 320 thousand tons of coal a year.

The equipment for the open-pit mining works is shipped to Neryungri, then by cargo transport to the place of operation.

Spare parts for 5 BelAZ-7555 with the cargo lifting capacity of 55 tons and Liebherr excavator have been sent to the industrial site.
