In 2013, Severstal increased hot galvanized car steel plates production by 44% to 95,000 tons.

On February 17th, the President of Russia V. Putin visited the shop for hot galvanized car steel plates production at the Cherepovets metal works, a subsidiary of Severstal Russian Steel.

The supplies to foreign car producers shared over 86% in the total dispatch of hot galvanized car steel plates, including those that localized their production facilities in Russia. Total dispatch of hot galvanized car steel plates to the Russian and the CIS producers was 82,000 tons.

The growth in production is provided by the successful development of the necessary assortment including the enlargement in the capacities of the joint enterprises for rolled steel processing that provide ready semi-finished items and details for car  production. Now the line is able to produce over 50 sorts of hot galvanized car steel, and some of them is produced in Russia only by the Cherepovets metal works.
