Kazakhstan assesses its gold resources at 9.5 thousand tons
The forecast gold resources of Kazakhstan are assessed at 9.5 thousand tons, the head of the Committee for Geology and Subsoil Use of the Ministry of Investment and Development of the country, B. Nurabaev, said.
“The resources of hardrock gold deposits make up 7.7 thousand tons, complex gold containing – about 2 thousand tons. The forecast P1 and P2 resources make up 53%. They mainly characterize the perspectives of hardrock gold areas for the foundation of new objects and the growth of reserves at flanks and deep horizons of explored deposits and not sufficiently studied perspective ore occurrences. The majority of them are focused within the Eastern, Central, Northern and Southern regions of Kazakhstan”, Mr. Narabaev said.
