Metinvest is the first company in the Ukraine that starts production of weathering rolled metal under European standard

In January this year, Mariupol Ilyich plant and Azovstal of the Metinvest Group started the production of hot-rolled plates of structural steel, resistant to atmospheric corrosion under the European standard EN 10025-5. Previously, this type of steel wasn’t produced in the Ukraine. In appearance and quality weathering steel is similar to the famous "corten" steel.

Anti-corrosion properties of EN 10025-5 steel are due to its chemical composition. Due to the special system of doping patina is formed on the surface of the product that protects the inner layers from the environment. Such rolled steel doesn’t require painting, which saves costs on surface treatment and operating of structures.
