Kazakhstan has coal reserves for 250 years, KazEnergy’s General Director, Aset Magautov reported.
“In view of the large volume of undeveloped reserves, Kazakhstan is provided with coal for over 250 years. Meanwhile, there is a low activity in geological exploration of coal deposits in the republic,” – Magautov said at the KazEnergy’s extended meeting in Astana.
According to him, today Kazakhstan has significant potential coal reserves. There are about 34.5 billion tons in the country. “At the same time, the low level of prices makes it the most attractive energy source,” – the expert notes.
