The converter substation PP-70 of the nickel electrolysis shop of Kola GMK, a subsidiary of Norilsk Nickel, has launched to production exploitation the fifth direct current aggregate. Its launch completes preparing of the energy capacities of the company to growth in electrolysis nickel production to 120,000 tons. Cathode metal production is an energy-consuming process that’s why growth in production was impossible without intensification of energy facilities.
