In 2012, MMK increased sort rolled steel production to 1.739 million tons, by 16% versus 2011 and by 60% versus 2010. Today MMK’s sort rolling capacities are fully loaded. Such a large level of growth happened in connection with the post-recession restoration in demand in the construction sector and the growth in supplies to the largest consumer of the combine, MMK Metiz. Dispatch to the enterprise was 507,700 tons in 2012 and 467,700 tons in 2011. Another large consumer is the construction sector. Last year supplies to that increased by 14%.
