In the first six months, the Russian coal mining companies increased production by 4.1% to 174.7 million tons. According to the Institute of Natural Monopolies, export shipments of coal declined in favor of the growing domestic demand (the shipments to the domestic market increased by 10.1% since the beginning of the year) in spite of the devaluation of the ruble.
In the first six months, the exports fell by 5% and by 6.9% in June.
